What does 2023 romance look like? I really feel like if we get a good grasp on that, the 90’s movies can stay nostalgia pieces. Black people deserve frivolous love stories. We deserve to feel the 13 going in 30 or any Adam Sandler love story feeling with a black cast and plot. The 90’s movies and shows depicted their idea of romance. The poems at the night lounges and basketball games for your heart look different now. We may not get the dancing in the rain and boom boxes. A travesty, I know. However, romance isn’t dead though, it just looks different and we have to be with people who are willing to discover what that looks like with us. The situationships and talking phases need to be put to rest and let’s get the real love stories back with the cute courting phases. The 90’s set the foundation, let’s not disappoint lol
